Fun Detectors is the supplier of all experiences and equipment that appear on www.fundetectors.co.uk. When you purchase equipment, an experience or hire equipment from Fun Detectors, you become legally bound by these terms and conditions. Please do not proceed with a booking until you have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions which are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
You must be 18 years or over to purchase from the Site and are legally bound to fulfil all obligations.
You understand we use the information you provide to us to complete your transaction and fulfil our obligation to you as service provider. We do not store payment information but will utilise your email address to contact you about your order and confirm your order is on it’s way and inform you of any website and product updates or offers. You can unsubscribe at any time. We will not pass your information to third parties except for payment transaction as described below.
Payment – we use a reputable third party (Stipe Payments Ltd) to process your payment information and you agree to them using your information to process your payment. Fun Detectors cannot be held responsible for any third party breach.
Shipping – all products must be paid for online before they are shipped, delivered or you attend an experience. We aim to ship purchased products within five working days. If there is to be a delay in this time scale we will inform you.

Site Ownership – The Site is owned by Fun Detectors. All content including, but not limited to text, graphics, data, photographic images, moving images, sound, illustrations and software are protected by copyright, trade dress, moral rights, trademark and other laws relating to the protection of intellectual property. All intellectual property rights are the property of Fun Detectors and our associated third parties and are trade marked as such.
Use of the Site – All content is intended for customers of Fun Detectors. You may not use the Site for any purpose not related to your business with Fun Detectors. You are prohibited from: (a) copying or re-transmitting any or all of the Site or content without a written agreement from Fun Detectors; (b) using any data mining, robots or similar data gathering or extraction methods; (c) purchasing, registering, subscribing, unsubscribing or attempting to register, subscribe or unsubscribe any party for any product or service on the Fun Detectors website if you are not authorized to do so; (d) modifying any part of the Site; (e) disabling or interfering with security-related features of the Site or any system resources, services or networks connected to or accessible through the Site; (f) selling, licensing or leasing any content without specific written authorisation from Beeutiful and (g) using the Site other than for its intended purpose. In addition you agree not to use the Site or contents in any manner that could damage the reputation of the company.
Trademarks – The Fun Detectors and Paddy Detects logos and designs are trademarked and any other product or service name or slogan contained in the Site are trademarks of Fun Detectors and its suppliers or licensers, and may not be copied, imitated or used, in whole or in part, without the prior written permission of the company or the applicable trademark holder. In addition, the design of the Site, including all page headers, custom graphics, button icons and scripts, may not be copied, without written permission from the company.
Registration and account security – By using the Site or purchasing you agree to: (a) provide accurate information about you on the Site (“Registration Data”); (b) maintain and promptly update the Registration Data, and any other information you provide to Fun Detectors; (c) maintain the security of your password; (d) notify us immediately of any breach of security connected with your account; (e) accept all responsibility for any and all activities that occur under your account; and (f) accept all risks of unauthorised access to the data and any other information you provide.
Disclaimer – Fun Detectors will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from use of our products or services (including but not limited to, personal injury, pain and suffering, emotional distress, choking, medical complaints, death or injury to any animal or person). Children must be monitored at all times when using our products and should always be supervised.
You and not Fun Detectors assume the entire cost of all necessary medical bills or any arising legal fees or bills associated with the use of our products or services.
Fun Detectors will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use of the site or content, including, but not limited to lost profits and direct, indirect, incidental, punitive and consequential damages. We make no claim that the site is free from infection by viruses or anything else that has contaminating or destructive properties.
Limitation of Liability – in no event shall Fun Detectors, it’s directors, investors, employees or agents be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential damages, or any other damages of any kind, including but not limited to death, illness, medical complaints, loss of profits or loss of data, whether in an action in contract, tort (including but not limited to negligence) or otherwise, arising out of or in any way connected with the use of the site, our products, the services or the materials contained in or accessed through the site, including without limitation any damages caused by mistakes, omissions, interruptions, deletion of files or email, errors, defects, viruses, whether or not resulting from acts of god, communications failure, theft, destruction or unauthorised access to Fun Detector’s records, programmes or services. You agree total cumulative liability shall not exceed the amount paid to Fun Detectors for that calendar month in question. UK law shall apply to these Terms, and the parties agree to submit all disputes between them to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts. Fun Detectors can aid you in your purchase of metal detecting equipment and associated products and will offer advice to the best of our ability and based on the information you give us regarding what may/may not suit your use. We will inform you of the rules of metal detecting and offer advice as to where you can/cannot metal detect but can not be held responsible for any breach of these rules on your behalf, thereby you accept full responsibility and liability for any breach.
Termination – Fun Detectors reserves the right, without notice and at its sole discretion, to terminate your account to block your use of the Site.
Changes to Site Terms – Fun Detectors reserves the right to change any of the terms and conditions contained in the Terms & Conditions or any policy or guideline of the Site, at any time and at its sole discretion. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site.
Experiences
Availability
All experiences are offered subject to availability of dates. Bookings should be made as far in advance as possible, especially during peak times. Participants should not make any travel or accommodation arrangements until they have received a booking confirmation email from Fun Detectors showing the date and time of the booked experience.
Bookings
All experiences must be pre-booked unless stated otherwise. Customers should not arrive on site expecting to participate in an experience if a booking has not been made. Fun Detectors will not be liable for costs incurred if the procedure set out in these Terms and Conditions is not followed. Bookings are not finalised until a written confirmation from Fun Detectors has been received. This booking confirmation will advise you of the site address on which your experience will be taking place. Please do not share this address with anyone not involved in your booking.
For group and party bookings, final number of participants must be notified to Fun Detectors no later than 5 days prior to the experience taking place and any outstanding balance must be paid in full before the experience takes place. If confirmation is not received, the number of participants indicated when the booking was made will automatically be taken as final 5 days prior to the experience taking place. Experiences have maximum groups sizes and spaces are allocated according to bookings. Therefore, no refunds will be given if there are fewer participants on the day than booked/confirmed.
Health and Safety
Our metal detecting experiences require registration and a health and safety briefing. It is essential that participants listen carefully to health and safety briefing. Health and safety instructions given by the onsite Manager must be adhered to at all times. No alcohol or drugs can be consumed either before or during an experience. Fun Detectors reserves the right to refuse an experience to persons suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We run a no smoking/vaping policy and will politely ask you to refrain from doing so until you have left our site.
Arrival
Participants are advised to arrive a few minutes prior to their booking time. It is the responsibility of the participant to arrange transportation to the venue and to allow plenty of time for their journey to ensure they arrive on time for the experience. If you arrive late we will do our best to accommodate you but please be aware you will not get the full planned experience and we will be ending the experience at the pre-designated time.
Supervision
We ask that all parents/carers please be responsible for their children and supervise them at all times. If the weather has been particularly warm in recent days the ground may be drier than we would like and children may therefore need some assistance to dig for their pinpointed treasure. We will do our upmost to assist but at busy times it might be quicker if you can assist your own child.
Weather
While Fun Detectors metal detecting is not weather dependent it may be necessary to cancel events in certain circumstances. We always plan to run an experience but the safety of staff and participants is paramount and we would appreciate your understanding of this. If an event is cancelled, it will be rescheduled for a later date at no extra charge. No refunds will be given. We will make a decision on the morning of your experience if we feel the weather is too poor for you to enjoy your visit with us. Participants that fail to attend on a day that operates in spite of bad weather forecasts will lose their experience. In the event of cancellation, Fun Detectors will not be held liable for the cost of travel expenses, pre-booked accommodation cost or any other costs incurred.
Refunds, Cancellations and Refunds
Fun Detectors will not refund booked experiences.
Experiences can be rescheduled once within 5 days of the experience taking place. If you need to reschedule again this will incur a £10 rescheduling fee.
Participants failing to turn up to an event will not be able to reschedule and no refunds will be given. Therefore please do not simply not turn up, please contact us beforehand.
Cancelled events
In the unlikely event that Fun Detectors has to cancel an experience for reasons such as, but not exclusive to, the weather or mechanical breakdown, or because minimum requirements are not met. Fun Detectors regret such eventualities, but in these circumstances, are unable to reimburse travel, accommodation or any other expenses incurred in relation to the cancelled event. Fun Detectors will contact all participants as soon as possible advising of the cancellation, which may be as late as the day of the event. Participants have 10 days to contact Fun Detectors to reschedule their experience at no extra cost. No refunds will be given.
Risks
With any outdoor experience there are risks involved, although we like to think these are minimal. We have a qualified first aider on site at all times and Fun Detectors hold a valid public liability insurance and this is always available to view upon request.
Health
Please advise us of any health conditions or physical disabilities that may affect the participant’s enjoyment of the experience. We will do our upmost to ensure all participants enjoy their time with us and will take on board any suggestions made to us by a parent/guardian/carer.
Cleanliness
We will provide all participants with gloves to protect their hands whilst they are digging in the dirt. Please ensure you use the provided anti-bacterial gel and handwashing facilities before and after your experience.
Equipment
Fun Detectors will provide all the equipment required for your metal detecting experience. We will spend 10 minutes at the beginning of the session explaining to you how it works and will be on hand during your experience to provide guidance and advice.
Our metal detectors are expensive pieces of equipment and we ask that you handle them in the correct manner as demonstrated at the beginning of the experience. Anyone using a detector in an inappropriate fashion will be asked to return the equipment and forfeit the remainder of their experience.
All equipment needs to be returned to us at the end of your experience and will be counted back in to our store. All items you find with your detector are yours to keep, admire and show off to your friends.
Livestock
You will see we do have some livestock on site. The livestock are all surrounded by electric fence so please do not touch it or allow your children to. Please do ask us if you would like to visit the livestock after your experience. Please do not wander into the areas where the livestock are without asking a member of the Fun Detectors team who will escort you after your metal detecting experience has finished.
Litter
Participants are asked to take all litter with them when leaving the site as there are no onsite litter disposal facilities.
Personal Belongings
It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that they are in possession of all their personal belongings following their experience. Fun Detectors accepts no responsibility for private property whilst on our site, including accepting liability should property be returned for any reasons to someone who is not the rightful owner. You will be notified if property was left on site during your experience and will be kept for a period of 3 months for you to claim it. After which it will be disposed of as a donation to charity or third a party. To reclaim your item you will be asked to provide a detailed description.
Finally
We are confident all participants will have a fabulous time on our metal detecting experience days and welcome any feedback at the end of your session.
Rentals
When renting metal detecting equipment from Fun Detectors you agree to look after our equipment and return it in the sound condition that it was delivered to you in.
Fun Detectors agree to deliver to you at a time convenient to you and to collect the equipment at the end of your rental period. We will ask you upon booking where you intend to detect and will offer you correct advice or where you can and cannot use metal detecting equipment. Any diversion from our advice is your own responsibility. Fun Detectors will not be held responsible for any transgressions made.
Fun Detectors agree to send you a “How to…..” video on the use of the equipment and are available by phone if you have any difficulty during your rental period.
Cancellations are non-refundable but can be rescheduled once within ten days of the original but cancelled date.
Please remember you need landowners permission to detect or can detect on any beach that is NOT Crown Estate owned. We provide you a copy of The voluntary Code of Practice for Responsible Metal Detecting 2017 Revision please familiarise yourself with this and follow it. If you are uncertain about any of the code or unsure about the rules relating to metal detecting finds please do speak to us.
